Bella is a 3 year old working Cocker Spaniel.
Bella prolapsed 3 discs in her lumbar spine and had to have spinal surgery. Her hind quarters were left paralysed and she was even unable to wag her tail.
Bella was an in-patient at Pet Therapy during which time she followed an intensive rehabilitation programme of physiotherapy and hydrotherapy.
Bella began hydrotherapy in the pool and progressed to eventually managing to walk on the treadmill. By the time she left the clinic several months later she was running around with a football again.
Bella also had regular osteopathy sessions to help improve the muscle spasm and alignment of her spine.
Her owners were delighted to get Bella back home and Bella was delighted to run in the fields with the two other dogs she lives with.

The video below shows Bella at the beginning of her therapy. As you can see she has very little use of her back legs.
The video below shows the dramatic improvement in Bella made after her therapy sessions. If you compare the use of her back legs in the pool to the video above you can see the fantastic progress she has made.
