Alfie prolapsed 3 discs in his thoracolumbar spine and underwent major spinal surgery. He suffered a few post op complications with infection which resulted in him being referred to Pet Therapy around 8 weeks post surgery.
On Alfies first visit to Pet Therapy his hind limbs were supported in a pelvic harness held by his owner. Alfie began a rehabilitation programme which involved both physiotherapy and hydrotherapy.
Alfie quickly progressed to being able to stand unassisted and then to walk and run. As he progressed in strength and ability his physiotherapy was adjusted accordingly.

Alfie made a full recovery and still occasionally has a swim session at the clinic just because he enjoys it so much!
